4th May 2009
Today was an easy day, we did readthroughs of next week scripts. Then I went of to tutoring. We did Maths, basic facts and some multiplication work that was a bit like place value (working out how many ones, tens, hundreds and thousands there were in a number). Finally I did some work on this blog site, publishing my diary and some of the dictionary we are making. Tomorrow we start shooting for real, I am really looking forward to it.
5th May 2009
Today we started filming, our first episode was “Emu Pox” during this episode a rocket that we have made in the cafe is launched. This first time they launched it there was so much smoke that they could not see us. It was a very cool day, and great to finally start getting some actual filming done.
6th May
Today we filmed “Non-Imaginary friend” and its about Emu’s Kitten friend. I got to hold the kitten for a while it was SOOOOOOOOO SMALL! It was black and white and liked to be Inside jackets.
The owner’s eyes looked like a cats one’s and his name is Nick and he is part of the art department. We all discovered why they say not to work with animals. The kitten held us up lots, jumping out of the basket when we were trying to carry it, or not jumping out when it was supposed to. One of the cast even got whoopsied on, luckily it wasn’t me! So that was about it for today.
7th may
Today we filmed “Hide’n’Shriek” I got dressed up as ‘Wednesday’ off the Addams family .
My whole face was painted white and I wore a really cool dress that was made especially for me by Jilly, the wardrobe Lady. I was wearing my high heels the whole day and I got a really sore feet. What was also nice was that there were some other kids on the set.
14th May
Today we did “bottle rockets” for the first time. This wasn’t part of the Emu programme, it was part of the tutoring and will be part of my science topic on energy. On the first attempt to fire it, it only went about 15 meters, but we are going to see if we can get it to go further. The other cool thing was that my friend Milly came onto the set and played “Suzie,” she did really well. It was great to have a friend come onto the set. There was a scene today that had milk in it. It took ages and I had lots of very long lines. Well that’s about it for today.
15th May
Today I worked with a guinea pig (it was better behaved then the kitten), there was a short haired grey one called “Chatterbox” and a long haired ginger one called Toby. Luckily we only had to work with “Chatterbox” because there are two other Tobys on set already! I got to hold the guinea pig all the time. We also had a huge pillow fight, Emu and Ethan got pillows that had feathers coming out of them. Toby (not the guinea pig) and I only got couch pillows. It was lots of fun and made lots of mess as well. Bye!
18th May
Today was Borrinng, just read throughs and rehearsals.
20th May
It’s my birthday today and I got a computer. At lunchtime I got a cake, it was delicious. After I got dropped off home I went to Milly’s house and they had another cake for me. Finally I got to put my computer together and install “Indiana Jones”, but I couldn’t install Microsoft stuff because I had to go to bed.

Lots of things happened today, and most of the bad ones happened to Leo. He got sprayed in the face with tomato sauce, then he fell face first into a cake. It was very funny and I’m really looking forward to seeing this episode. The best bit came at the end of the day when we got to try to eat a whole cake. It wasn’t as bad as that sounds since Emu threw most of it around the room. Still I got enough into my mouth that in one of the takes I could barely say my lines. Julia
1st June
Well, we have been away for a week. While the rest of the cast and crew were on location for the week, Ethan and I were back at school. It was great to catch up with all my friends, but I am happy to be back on set. Today started like all our mondays with read throughs, then we had still shots for promotional things. I had to get changed 3 times, including once into an Emu costume. I also had a wardrobe fitting for a costume further down the track.
When Lucy and I where going home we stopped off to deliver the kitten back. It was so cute but I did not get to touch it.

today i got picked up at 9.20 and we are shooting “To catch an Emu!”
today a played with clay in the episode and got pulled down by a net it was fun but i got elbowed in the ribs accidentally now rob is like totally said “oh goodness who elbowed you you should like say “dont touch me man” and punch him in the Face ” hahahahahaah the way kids do.

Wednesday the 3rd
Today we filmed the longest scene we have ever done and it had a cell phone in a water jug filled with water and I got splashed.
My day is dull and I read.The end.

today we acted with a cheesecake it looked yummy and tall.
Monday 8th
today we did not do read throughs, we acted and mum came to watch.
Toby L yelled at us today.
me and mum brought a drnk and a chip packet and a kitkat.
today we watched ledgend of the seeker and it was scarey.
tuesday the 9 th
Today was a hard day on set:
I GOT A HEAD ACHE cos megan blasted “hook me up” by The Veronicas to wake me up.
TOBY L YELLED AT US cos we where whispering to each other.
BRYONY CRYED because she sneezed into tobys arm and smashed it against it, while he was reaching over to grab a helium balloon
i HURT MY EYE while i jumped out a window and landed on the rock solid mats.
